Chaos

Chaos.  Such a small, crazy little word.  Defined as "a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order."  Or, as the the Fly Lady says, "Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome."  Yep.  That pretty much sums up my life right about now!  Hence the lack of posting to my poor, neglected blog.  But, that all changes starting TODAY!  Today is D-Day for reclaiming my life in all aspects.  I will get my body back in shape.  I will get my house clean and organized!  I will start doing things together with all members of my family that make us all happy and fulfilled.  Date nights and home improvement projects with my husband, learning to sew and quilt with Haley, making special time for Mickey (her current obsession in Candy Land!) and continuing to relish in watching Carly and Callie grow.  ♥  (Speaking of Carly and Callie, I will be making a post about their birth since I never quite got around to doing that, and here they are 8 months old already!  But, I am very pleased to announce I made it to 32 weeks 2 days!)

Ok, so in order to hold myself accountable, I took before pictures of myself.  This body is going BYE BYE, to be replaced with a much more fit, cute version.  That's the plan anyway.  Not only do I want to be cute, but I need to be healthy.  I am far from that at this point in time.  I shudder to think of the amount of visceral fat I have going on!  I have a lot of risk factors; my paternal grandmother had terrible heart disease and even had to have a heart transplant, my maternal grandmother suffered 2 major strokes, one of which left her paralyzed in a nursing home, I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which puts me at risk for both of these conditions as well as insulin resistance, diabetes and a slew of other health problems.  I have too much to live for - I plan on living a really LONG life, so my health needs to become a priority!  All that said, here I am now.

Starting weight *gulp* 178.4 pounds.  I can't even believe I just said that.  But, I have to hold myself accountable or I won't stick with it!  Today's workout:  Jillian Michaels: Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism.

On top of getting in shape, something needs to seriously be done about my style!  That mop on top of my head has got to GO!  I'm going to work on finding ways to look put together on a daily basis.  I'm tired of looking like something the cat drug in, and my husband probably is too, even though he would never say it!

The other HUGE project is to get my house back in order.  Clean and organized.  If I'm being real, my house has never been organized!  I am terrible with organization!  But I have found lots of inspirational blogs to help me on my journey, which I will also be sharing here.  I haven't thought about what today's project is going to be.  I'm not organized yet, remember!  I will pick some area and , Fly Lady style, spend 15 minutes working in that area.  If that's all I can do in a day, then at least I did something!  If I can do more, GREAT!

Ok, I could sit here and talk all day, but that won't get rid of the chaos!  So, I'm off, but I promise a Carly and Callie introduction post is coming ... that's if anyone even still reads this poor, neglected blog of mine!  :-)

  1. Ha! I could have written this post... except my starting weight is higher. I'm insanely disorganized and working very hard on getting organized/decluttered and such. I've been at it slowly for a few months -- busy months of pregnancy + newborn so not super productive, but I can seriously feel it already. I'm on my way to a 'new' house and a 'new' me! :)

I hope you share loads of your findings and such, cause I can use any tip you come accross! :)
