Mickey's First Drawing ♥

Mickey was drawing this morning, and to my huge surprise, she drew a person!  I am SO impressed!  We asked her who it was and she said, Mickey.  We asked her what she was holding and she said a purse.  I just LOVE HER!!!  ♥  Here she is with her masterpiece, which I will treasure!

19 weeks ... Thankful for 2 Healthy Babies!

Today we had our anatomy scan.  It was such a neat experience!  Our little girls were kicking and touching each other through their placentas.  ♥ We have 2 very healthy looking little girls! They each weigh about 11oz already. Amazing! Baby A's heart rate was 150 and Baby B was 147. Baby A (the one closest to my cervix) is our laid back one that likes to just relax. Baby B is our fiesty little girl who is constantly on the move! It's kind of funny, because from the looks of it, we have a Haley and a Mikaela in there! hehe

I am just feeling so blessed beyond measure. I honestly never thought both of these babies would make it. When we found out it was twins, I just knew at each early ultrasound that one or both of them would have died. Sounds morbid, but it's what you come to expect after so much heartache. Here were are, almost halfway through and this has been a model pregnancy! I am at the point where preterm labor started with Mikaela. There aren't any signs of that yet. I fully expected it to start much sooner and be terrible! Just goes to show that we are not in charge, and everything comes on God's time, not ours.

Well, here are my favorite pictures from the ultrasound this morning. So super cool! I am amazed that I have 2 perfect little baby girls growing in my belly. ♥

Their little heads - they were laying the same direction most of the time

4 perfect feet and 20 perfect toes ♥

18 weeks! We are having ...

Yesterday marked 18 weeks.  Almost halfway there already!  I had an OB appointment in the afternoon and it went really well.  My cervical length is still holding out >3cm which is fabulous.  It was pretty uneventful other than that because everything is just going SO WELL!  Thank God.  I truly had pictured this pregnancy with twins to have gone horribly wrong by now with preterm labor.  I couldn't be more thrilled that things are going so well.

Then in the evening, we had our repeat ultrasound with the 3d place for gender determination since they weren't able to tell before.  After a lot of work because one baby was just being super stubborn, we found out that we are having ...

2 more girls!!!!!!!

Poor Mike had his dreams of having a boy dashed last night.  He was pretty crushed and I really felt bad.  However, I know he will love these little girls as much as he loves the two he already has.  I am over the moon - I would have been either way it went!  I am just so happy to know so that I can finally feel like I can really get prepared, just in case bed rest is in my future.

We have lots of shots with the 3 lines, but I will just share one of each baby.

I can't believe I am going to be the mommy of 4 girls. ♥

Funny story:  We were in the car on the way to get something to eat after the ultrasound last night. Mike rolled down his window to spit out his gum and Mikaela goes, "Daddy! You messed my hair up!" He goes, "This is what I have to live with for the rest of my life!" LOL It was really funny! Poor Mike. Too much estrogen, not enough testoterone!  One of these days we will have to get Izzie a nice, big MALE playmate!  lol

On a different note, today is GORGEOUS!  It's the first day of spring, my big brother Joey's 35th birthday and opening day at the Hampton Supertrack!  It's my nephew Taylor's first day back at BMX racing, which he has been doing since he was about 6 years old!  I can't wait to see his race and enjoy this beautiful day.  :)

Is it Friday yet???

Friday I will be 18 weeks!  We have an OB appointment at 3pm, which I am looking forward to!  Can't wait to see what my cervix is doing - I have a feeling it's holding strong though.  I am less nervous now with my OB appointments because I can consistently find the heartbeats with my doppler now, and I am quite sure it is 2 different babies!!  Feels good to be able to check on them whenever I want.  :)

Then, the really exciting news is that same evening at 6pm, we are having our repeat 3d ultrasound!!!  We should be able to tell without a doubt the sexes of these babies!!!  I am dying of curiosity!  I NEED to know!  LOL  Aside from just being curious, I want to be able to do some shopping to get prepared before I am not able to waddle around the stores anymore!!  It is already getting hard to shop most days.  I just tire out so quickly and the round ligament pain gets out of control if I walk too much.  (Not to mention the back pain!)  Carrying 2 babies really is a lot different than carrying 1!!!

So, I say again, IS IT FRIDAY YET???? Oh yeah, Happy St. Patty's Day!!

A different kind of belly shot ...

Took this shot today, my belly from a different perspective ... the top view! :) Just for fun!  17 weeks tomorrow!!

Jerr Bear

This post is dedicated to my sister in law's cat, Jerry, whom we affectionately call "Jerr Bear." He is gray and white, super fluffy and just as crossed eyed as he can be. He is really quite adorable, and one of the most lovable cats I have EVER met! He has been my little snuggle buddy since I got pregnant with the twins - he definitely seems to sense them!

Shortly after they moved here almost a year ago, he started peeing outside the litter box. It would just be found in random places, however we know he was also using the litter box. This would happen sporadically over the last year, and he would sometimes go months without doing it. However, recently it got completely out of hand. After 4 days of finding new places that he had peed, the final straw was when Mike wanted to kill the cat after finding it in his closet all over his things. We had had it with the cat pee in our house, and the only solution that didn't involve forcing them to give up a beloved pet was to have him stay on the back patio. He was only out there one night, and he escaped. He was gone the next morning and we were all worried about him. (Well, I'm not sure if Mike was, but he was out looking for him at 7am!) The back patio obviously wasn't a viable option either.

So, he went to the vet just to see if maybe it was urinary tract infection. I had read online and been told by many people that often times when cats pee outside the litter box it is because of a UTI. As it turns out, poor Jerr Bear has a sever bladder infection! Poor little thing. We honestly didn't think it was a medical problem because it started shortly after they moved in here. Goodness only knows how long the poor thing has suffered with the infection! So, this is a public service announcement ... if your cat starts to pee outside it's litter box, take it to the vet immediately!! Even if it doesn't seem like a plausible explanation to the problem, it really is the first step in figuring out the problem. We could have avoided a ton of stress in this house that way!

Here is the little cutie, Jerry. I saw him laying in the beautiful light today and had to snap a few pictures of him!

16 Weeks

Yesterday marked 16 weeks! Hard to believe how fast it is going now. I had an OB appointment. The best news of the day was we started cervical length checks yesterday. They like for your cervix to measure 3cm or greater. She did 2 measurements of mine and they were 4.75cm and 3.6cm, both over what they like to see, which is wonderful! Why are we doing this some of you may be wondering? As the length of the cervix decreases, the risk for spontaneous preterm birth rises. As someone who has had a very preterm delivery and who is now pregnant with multiples, checking cerivical length is a tool to assess my risk for preterm delivery. So this is good news so far, let's hope it stays that way!

We saw that both babies had heartbeats on the ultrasound they did to check my cervical length, so we know they are still thriving. Unfortunately, with this type of u/s, we didn't get any new pictures of the baby, or the look at gender I was hoping for! But, the babies are healthy, and that is the most important thing by far!!! The babies' heartbeats were 150 and 154. ♥

Here is a 16 weeks belly shot. I can't imagine how huge this thing is going to get in the coming months!!

Gone are the days ...

So, Mikaela is 2 years and 8 months old. She still sleeps in her crib and until last night, had never tried to get out of it! Well, after Mike put her in bed and got in the shower last night, Haley came out and said, "Guess what! Mikaela came in and said hi to me, and I asked her if you or daddy got her down and she said no, I did it!" I was like, oh dear! She finally climbed out of her crib. We saw it coming. She turned her light on the other day by standing on her blankets and stuffed animals. We knew it was only a matter of time! Well, when she woke up this morning, she didn't call me like usual. She simply climbed out of her crib and came out to find me! So, gone are the days of crib sleeping for Mikaela!! Time to convert her crib to a toddler bed. I know, I know. I can't believe she lasted this long! It just seems so sad that my baby is growing up. I guess it's a good thing with 2 more babies on the way though!

On the subject of the babies and Mikaela, I just have to say she is so cute about them! Last night when she was giving hugs and kisses before bed, she had to come back to me and kiss and hug the babies goodnight. ♥ She is so excited about the babies! She is always bringing me my doppler and asking if we can listen for the heartbeats. She just LOVES babies. I hope the excitement lasts once they are here! :)

P.S. Mike converted Mickey's crib to a toddler bed! She loves her new big girl bed. She is doing pretty good with it - only got up twice the first night! *sniff* I still can't believe my baby is going to be 3 soon!!!!!
